Barnsley Local Authority is passionate about play and its facilitation through their children’s services, including early years, out of school childcare and playwork. We have worked with them over the last few years to deliver some of our well-established courses and to develop bespoke courses to meet particular emerging needs from their service providers. This has seen us deliver training on playful interventions, reflective practice and dynamic risk-benefit assessment; many of which we have return to deliver again as providers change and new settings are developed.
Later this year (2015), as well as old favourites on risk and reflective practice we will deliver courses on ‘reframing behaviour adults find challenging’, and ‘creating the conditions for play’. It is essential when working with providers to establish context, the uniqueness of their situation and tailor courses to those ends and that is what we do, time and again.
