Evaluation of a Regional Play Project
In his previous role with Glyndwr University, Ben was asked to help evaluate the impact of a long-term play project that was to be delivered across three counties and within several local communities. Working with the project lead to establish their research aims, Ben and colleagues developed questionnaires that could be used with both adults and children over the duration of the project.
To save costs on data collection the project lead ensured questionnaires were completed and raw data from them entered into a spreadsheet from which Ben and his colleagues could interpret the data and compile both an interim report, to have an immediate impact on the project, and a final report demonstrating both the experiences and outputs of the project. Working in this way enabled the project lead to reduce the costs of an evaluation project whilst ensuring its rigour, credibility and validity.
